Meet Ben Boss, the proud owner of Boss Carpet One and the fifth-generation Boss in the flooring industry. Growing up in the Dixon community, he was surrounded by the flooring business, and it's in his blood. 

With years of experience, he's seen it all and done it all when it comes to carpets, hardwood, and tile. From providing flooring for large commercial projects to creating design plans, Ben is a master of his trade. His passion for flooring and his commitment to excellence has earned him a reputation as a trusted and reliable business owner. So, if you want to work with a boss who knows floors inside and out, look no further.

Joe Doane

General Manager

Joe is the general manager of our flooring stores who's got nearly a decade of experience and is an expert in the field. He's the man in charge and makes sure everything runs smoothly. But before he was the big boss, he was just a humble salesperson, working his way up the ranks.

Joe is the ultimate flooring expert, he knows more than most about flooring and is always happy to share his knowledge with customers. He's got an eye for design and can help customers pick the perfect flooring for their home or office and is also known for his ability to close a deal - his sales skills are second to none.

He's also known for his great memory. Customers are often surprised that he is able to remember every customer's name and what flooring they picked out even from years ago. He's a leader that leads by example and is always willing to roll up his sleeves and get his hands dirty.

Michelle Gahan

Office Manager/Accounting

Meet Michelle, the woman who can make numbers dance and paperwork sing! With over 30 years of experience in construction-related businesses, she's the ultimate combination of brains and organization.

As an accountant and office manager, Michelle is the glue that holds our business together... just ask our retail sales staff and commercial flooring department! Her organizational skills are second to none and she's always one step ahead, making sure everything runs smoothly. But, don't let her love for order fool you, she's also a master of multitasking and can handle any challenge thrown her way.

When it comes to dependability, Michelle is the poster child. You can always count on her to show up, get the job done, and done well. Her work ethic is legendary and her attention to detail is razor-sharp. With her on the team, you can rest easy knowing that everything is in good hands.

But don't let all this talk of numbers and paperwork fool you, Michelle has a sense of humor too. She's always cracking jokes and keeping the office in a good mood. And when it comes to office pranks, she's a master. She's the whole package!

Bill Whiteley

Commercial Project Manager

Say hello to Bill, the commercial project manager who's as elusive as a ghost! He's always out in the field, managing our largest and most complex projects, and is rarely seen in the office. But when he is in the office, he's always got a new story to tell about his latest project.

A master of organization and attention to detail, he's got a system for everything, and he always knows where everything is and what needs to be done. He's the one who makes sure that our crews of commercial installers are on schedule and always working to the highest standards.

Bill is the ultimate field manager, always on the go, and always on the lookout for new projects to tackle. He's a master of multitasking, juggling multiple projects at once, and always delivering results. He's also known for his ability to navigate through any obstacles that come his way, and always finds a way to make it work.

Holly Westgerdes, AKBD

Kitchen & Bath Designer

Meet Holly, a certified kitchen designer with nearly 20 years of experience under her belt. She is a certified NKBA (National Kitchen & Bath Association) designer, which means she's like a wizard in the kitchen design world. With her magical touch, she can transform even the most mundane kitchen into a culinary paradise.

Holly works in both Dixon and Freeport and is well-known for her award-winning designs that will make you say "Wow, I never knew a kitchen could be this cool!" Her designs have been featured in magazines, which is no small feat. She's like the Beyoncé of kitchen design.

But don't let her fame fool you, Holly is not just a pretty face, she also has a great sense of humor. She'll make you laugh while she's designing your dream kitchen, and you'll have so much fun working with her, you'll forget that you're even in a kitchen showroom.

Nick Litts

Flooring Sales Professional

Nick is the newest member of our team and let me tell you, he's been killing it! He's like a superhero in training, using his powers for good and making customers super happy.

Since joining us in 2021, Nick has been impressing everyone with his skills, attitude and work ethic. He's been receiving rave reviews (check out Google!) from customers and even some high fives from colleagues (post-Coronavirus, we can do this now…). He's always willing to go the extra mile to ensure that our customers are satisfied and happy, which is a trait that we all admire.

Nick has also been able to develop a fun rapport with our customers, which is no small feat. He has a unique ability to make customers laugh and feel at ease, even during the most stressful of situations, like having your house torn apart for a flooring installation. He's like a customer whisperer, always able to understand their needs and exceed their expectations.

Overall, Nick has been a blast to have on our team and we're lucky to have him. He's like the cherry on top of the sundae of our team and we look forward to seeing him continue to excel in his role.

Morgan Ross

This is Morgan, the dog-loving flooring salesperson who will make you smile from the moment you walk in the door! With her easy-going nature and always-on smile, she's a breath of fresh air in the sometimes-stuffy world of flooring sales.

With 5 years of experience under her belt, Morgan is a certified flooring expert with Carpet One. She knows all the ins and outs of the flooring industry and can answer any question you throw her way. But don't let her expertise fool you, she's not one of those pushy salespeople. She's easy to work with and always puts her customers first.

Her extensive experience with new construction design means that she's the go-to person when it comes to selecting the perfect floors for your new home. She's able to translate your vision into a beautiful reality, while also keeping in mind your budget and lifestyle.

Brian Strock

Heyyy Brian! This man can do it all. As the manager of the Dixon warehouse, he's the one who keeps things running smoothly.

Yet, he's not just a warehouse manager... he's also a master of commercial sales and a jack of all trades who can be found doing carpentry work around the office. Whether he's fixing a broken tool or building a new desk, he's always happy to lend a hand.

What really sets Brian apart is his sense of humor. No matter how busy he is, he always has a good one-liner ready to go. Even on the toughest days, he can make the staff laugh and lift their spirits.

Brian is also known for having made the office his second home. He's always around the office, though you might have a hard time finding him since he bounces around so much.

Joleen Grandstrand

With nearly 30 years of experience in the field, Joleen has a keen eye for design and style. She knows just the right flooring to match your decor and can turn any room into a showstopper. But her talents don't stop at flooring, she's a master of all things design and can work her magic on any surface.

Joleen's secret weapon is her loyal pack of Labrador dogs. They're her trusty sidekicks and always by her side, helping her choose the perfect floor for each project. Their keen sense of smell and love of napping on different textures makes them the ultimate design assistants.

Baylee Manus

Sales Professional

Meet Baylee, our newest sales and design professional, who brings a vibrant personality and exceptional design skills to our team! With a background in customer service at Blain’s Farm and Fleet and design expertise from The Mill Furnishings, she’s adept at in-home consultations, creating quotes, layouts, and managing social media.

Baylee holds an Associate of Arts Degree from Highland Community College and certificates in Interior Design, Floral Design, and Home Staging from the New York Institute of Art and Design. Her attention to detail, organizational prowess, and problem-solving skills ensure every project exceeds expectations.

From designing interiors to managing successful flooring installations, Baylee's creativity and dedication shine in every task. She's ready to help you find the perfect flooring and design a space you'll love. 

Telli Hall

Warehouse Assistant

Meet Telli, the warehouse assistant who's got mad rhymes and even madder skills! He's not just your average warehouse assistant, he's also a budding rapper with a talent for spitting fire on the mic. But when he's not in the studio, he's keeping the Freeport warehouse running smoothly.

Telli's got a glowing, easy-going personality that's hard not to love. He's passionate about his job and dedicated to providing the best customer service possible. He's the one who does nearly every delivery from our Freeport store and always has a smile on his face. His positivity is infectious, and it's not uncommon for customers to leave the store feeling better than when they walked in.

His ability to multitask sets him apart. He can be found unloading deliveries, stocking shelves, and rapping his heart out all at the same time. He's always on the move and always has a song in his head.

Telli is also known for his can-do attitude, he's always willing to lend a hand and goes above and beyond to make sure that the warehouse runs smoothly. His dedication to the job and customer service is unmatched and is a true team player.
